For Lorraina Thomas, it’s all about helping out when and where she’s needed.

The Grade 10 student from Fort St. James Secondary School busily prepares sandwiches for her school mates.

“I like helping out,” Thomas said. “I do this almost every day.”

Monica Sillje, a teacher at the school, says that Thomas is always willing to help whether it’s washing, drying and folding for the Student Services Laundry Program or mopping and sweeping for Project Clean Sweep at the school.

“Lorraine is always pleasant, kind and helpful,” Sillje said.

When not helping out with various duties at school, Thomas enjoys drawing.

“I also enjoy building things, anything from metal to woodwork,” Thomas said.

And when not at school, Thomas, who has five brothers and sisters at home, enjoys quiet time on her computer.
