Come check out the many different kinds of bridge groups offered by White Rock Recreation and Culture:

• Duplicate Bridge (unsanctioned) Wednesdays, 1-4 p.m. at Centennial Arena welcomes all experienced players with a partner.

• Fun bridge Wednesdays, 1-3 p.m. at Kent Street Centre is good for those players who have recently learned the game and would like some practice.

• Contract bridge Tuesdays, 1-3:30 p.m. at WRCC and Sundays, 1-4 p.m. at KSAC, is for advanced players.

• Partner’s Bridge, Fridays, 6-10 p.m. at Centennial Park Leisure Centre, welcomes all advanced level players.

A White Rock Recreation and Culture membership is required to join. Please call 604-541-2231 for more information.

• Get out on the local water on a guided sunrise and sunset kayaking tours.

Kayaks, basic instruction and safety equipment are provided. All tours are conducted by a certified paddling instructor.

• Enjoy a three-hour instructional tour on local waters in a tandem canoe.

Learn basic paddle strokes and enjoy a fun summer paddle.

• Every cuisine has them, and they are all delicious. Learn to make steamed, boiled and pan-fried dumplings plus unique sauces and dips in “Around the World with Dumplings” on Saturday, July 9, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Kent Street Activity Centre.

• The Kent Street Players present Lunch Ladies at the L’Ambrosia Luncheria – a comedy by Pamela Loyd – plus Not My Cup of Tea – a comedy by Albert Groff – on Saturday, July 9 at 2 p.m. at Kent Street Activity Centre.

• As the warmer, sunnier weather approaches, perhaps you are keen on getting out on the golf course but need a quick refresher?

Learn the proper setup and swing fundamentals for your short and long game in Level 1 or Level 2 golf lessons offered by the Peace Arch Golf Centre.

There are still a few spots available in early July lessons. Call 604-541-2199 to register.

• The last Kent Street Centre Wednesday night dance before the summer break is this week (June 22).

Singles and couples aged 50-plus are welcome. Don’t be shy; there are mixer dances to get you acquainted. Doors open at 7 p.m., with dancing from 7:30-10:30 p.m. Refreshments served midway.

This week’s featured band is Quartette.
