To honour their trusted members, the Vernon Public Art Gallery is gearing up to host For the Love of Art, a diverse display of local art in the annual VPAG member’s exhibition at gallery. Enjoy an evening of music, contemporary art, locally crafted beer, wine, and appetizers Thursday, Nov. 9 from 6 p.m – 8 p.m.

“The gallery creates this annual exhibition as a thank you to VPAG members for supporting the gallery,” said Dauna Kennedy-Grant, executive director. “It is an opportunity for members to present their works of art in a professional gallery setting. This exhibition is also a gallery fundraiser and visitors can purchase any of the displayed artworks in this particular exhibition. We have made a few changes to the exhibition format this year, previously known as Exposed, the new title for the member’s exhibition is For the Love of Art. Along with the new name comes a few new parameters including a maximum artwork size of 11 x 14 inches and a maximum price of $150 each.

“We are excited about these new changes to the exhibition as this is also a fundraiser for the art gallery. We hope to encourage guests to purchase a piece of artwork for themselves or as holiday gifts. Proceeds from each sale are split between the artist and the Vernon Public Art Gallery.”

The exhibition For the Love of Art includes paintings and sculptures created by local artists and runs from Nov.9 to Dec. 20.
