Trailer Park Boys coming to Maple Ridge

Ricky, Julian and Bubbles will be at the Black Sheep Public House and Liquor Store on Apr. 4.

Stars of the popular Canadian comedy show Trailer Park Boys are coming to Maple Ridge.

Ricky, played by Robb Wells, Julian, played by John Paul Tremblay, and Bubbles, played by Mike Smith, will be signing autographs and taking photographs with fans at The Black Sheep Public House and Liquor Store on Wednesday, Apr. 4.

The actors will be at the liquor store promoting Season 12 of the show that started streaming on Netflix at the end of March, along with their new line of beer and whiskey.

Trailer Park Boys is a documentary-style comedy about residents of a Nova Scotian trailer park called Sunnyvale. Directed by Mike Clattenburg, the show follows the trailer park’s most notable inhabitants – Ricky, Julian and Bubbles – as they try making money through mostly illegal get-rich-quick schemes. The show originally premiered on Showcase in 2001 after Clattenburg’s first film in 1999 of the same name.

The Black Sheep Liquor Store will be the only location in the province the actors will be visiting.

This visit is a long time coming for store manager Cory Law. The trio were supposed to pay a visit in May 2016, but those plans were cancelled.

Law only found out a couple of months ago that they were paying the liquor store a visit.

“Its been a long time in the making, and we greatly appreciate all of your patience and ongoing support of the Black Sheep and our Boys,” Law said in a Feb. 7 Facebook post.

The store will also be stocked with Liquormen’s Whiskey and Freedom 35 beer and other merchandise.

Law anticipates that parking will be an issue and is encouraging those coming to use street parking, carpool or take a bus, which stops right in front of the store.

Ricky, Julian and Bubbles of Trailer Park Boys will be at the Black Sheep Public House and Liquor Store at 12968 232 St. in Maple Ridge, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
