Rosemary Lindsay has been announced as the new musical director of Timbre! Choir.

Timbre! Choir of Port Alberni, is proud to announce that Rosemary Lindsay from Qualicum Beach is the new musical director commencing September, 2016.

Rosemary is a choral conductor with 25 years conducting experience in all genres of choral music, including chamber, community and children’s choirs as well as vocal jazz.  She also has 33 years of experience teaching voice and is an award winning soloist in her own.

She is currently the principal voice teacher for the jazz degree program at Vancouver Island University in Nanaimo, she conducts the Village Voices Choir of Qualicum Beach and is herself a member of Island Voices choir from Campbell River.

It would seem that Rosemary already has a special connection to Timbre! through her past work with conductors such as the late Diane Loomer, James Fankhauser, Jon Washburn and Larry Nickel.  All of them have been involved with Timbre! over the years as clinicians and have always had a special place in the hearts of Timbre! members.

Timbre! Choir is thrilled that Rosemary will join the team as they continue their tradition of producing  choral music in the Alberni Valley as they enter their 44th season.

Mark Nov. 27, 2016 and April 30, 2017 on your calendars.
