Diskordanse's 'Coalesce' show hits the stage at Surrey Arts Centre on Saturday, June 4.

1. “In a steampunk meets super villain world, the performers tread lightly between fantasy and a possible reality as they journey through glimpses of one’s psyche.” So begins the Diskordanse company’s description of its “Coalesce” dance show, brought to Surrey Arts Centre for an 8 p.m. performance Saturday (June 4). South Surrey-based choreographer Nela Hallwas brings a cinematic, “Matrix”-like vibe to the production, which was staged last month at Vancouver’s Orpheum Annex. Tickets for the 50-minute show are $35 via 604-501-5566 or tickets.surrey.ca.

2. Surrey Urban Farmers Market gets going for another season next Wednesday (June 8). In a move to appease vendors, many of whom were unhappy with the market location at Surrey City Hall Plaza over the past couple of years, the event has moved back to its original site at North Surrey Recreation Centre plaza, 10275 City Parkway. Whatever the location, lots of fresh veggies, baked goods and other things will be sold from noon to 5 p.m. every Wednesday this summer. For details, visit Surreymarket.org, call 778-228-FARM (3276) or email info@surreymarket.org.

3. Lovers of antiques should probably head to Surrey Art Gallery on Saturday (June 4) for another Antiques Off the Roadshow event, from noon to 3 p.m. Expert appraisers will be there to have a look at old jewelry, books, art and collectibles. Surrey Art Gallery Association sponsors the semi-regular event, which this time involves appraisers Linda DevineGreg TollidayJane HarrisJeff Harris and John King. If you have something for them to study, the cost is $10 for the first item and $5 for each additional one. For more details, call 604-501-5566 or visit Surrey.ca/culture-recreation/11289.aspx.
