The Canadian classic rock band returns to the Chilliwack Cultural Centre

Legendary Canadian rockers, The Stampeders, are coming to Chilliwack to delight audiences with a musical trip down memory lane. For an entire generation, the uplifting melodic opening of Sweet City Woman brings back a flood of youthful memories and starts toes tapping to a beat.

Armed with all of their old hits and some new ones, the Juno Award-winning band is set to hit the stage at the Chilliwack Cultural Centre on Apr. 6, at 7:30 p.m.

Although The Stampeders regularly tour the country, Dodson says they haven’t been to Chilliwack in some time.

“We don’t get out (to Chilliwack) enough,” said band member Rich Dodson. “It’s a lovely end of the country and we’re looking forward to it.”

“We played Chilliwack a lot in the 70s,” added the musician. “But we haven’t been there in a while, (so this) will be fairly fresh.

“We’re going to do all the songs we’re known for … and have a good time with the audience.”

And while Dodson says performing is always enjoyable, it’s the fans they’re most excited about.

“We’re looking forward to the meet and greet afterwards,” he said. “The fans are just so fantastic, and meeting and greeting the old fans is a great buzz. We just love the experience of it!”

And if meeting the band isn’t enough, Dodson says they’re also doing autographs.

“We’ll autograph anything, (even) body parts,” laughed the musician. “It’s amazing what people will show up with.”
