Kicking Horse Mountain Resort summer season begins June 10th.
“Summer opening weekend at Kicking Horse Mountain Resort is a great opportunity to give the community a chance to re-discover our stunning mountain experience,” states Steve Paccagnan, President and CEO of Kicking Horse Mountain Resort. “From Friday June 10th through Sunday June 12th take advantage of our ‘Locals Appreciation Weekend’ with free sightseeing and grizzly bear refuge lift access to everyone who brings a donation for the Golden Food Bank.”
Opening weekend will also allow KHMR to present the Golden Food Bank with a cheque for $4,845 which was raised during the Sun Splash Funk Fest.
The gondola will be open on Friday, Saturday and Sunday for the first two weeks before being open daily after June 24th.
For those who can’t wait to see what KHMR has to offer, visit the Grizzly Bear Refuge, which will be open daily from June 10th to the 23rd.
And for anyone who experienced the amazing winter conditions this season, be prepared for a summer of equal proportions. Warm and sunny weather are in the forecast which allow for great mountain biking as well as hiking. KHMR is encouraging guests to experience the alpine hiking trails. Numerous ride walks allows for a casual hike but also includes an up and close view of the environment around the mountains.
If hiking and biking aren’t your thing, Goldenites still have a lot to look forward to this year with KHMR. The hill will be hosting Canada Day celebrations including the Canada Day Grind Bike Race. Not to mention a few culinary classics with three separate Summer Dinner Concert Series on July 1st, August 12th and September 2. The Golden Farmers Market will be hosted at KHMR on July 31 and September 4 and the Western Open Downhill Mountain Bike Race returns on August 6th and 7th. The Eagles Eye will also be hosting the Perseids Meteor Show once again on August 11.
KHMR has many more events lined up this year all of which can be found on their website at www.kickinghorseresort.com under “The resort”- events.
