Street pianos return to Comox

The 'Keys By The Sea' has returned to the streets of Comox for the summer.

The ‘Keys By The Sea’ has returned to the streets of Comox for the summer.

There are three pianos in various locations throughout Comox. The first is located at the Comox Marina Sails Buildings concourse and was originally donated by Audrey and Ray Craig.

Painted with an ‘under the sea’ motif by artist Kelly Maguire from Kelly Cat and Kay Bird Art Studio, it’s sure to draw musicians of all skill levels and provide lots of fun entertainment for those enjoying the Comox Rotary Splash Park and Playground.

Beaufort Family Dental donated the piano located at the Comox Town Circle at Comox Centre Mall. Artist Kelly Everill was inspired to create a fun theme featuring a happy smiling Tooth Fairy. Placed in the centre of the Comox shopping district this piano is bound to have an audience whenever it’s played.

The third piano is located in the Potting Shed at Filberg Park. The more than 120 varieties of trees in the park inspired artist David Thrasher to adorn the piano with several the types of trees that can be found on the grounds.

The serine, peaceful setting of Filberg Park is musically inspirational and when played, this piano will fill the park with beautiful music.

Once again this year the folks at Comox Moving and Storage donated their services by moving the ‘Keys By The Sea’ pianos into position for all to enjoy.

Th pianos will be available to play for the balance of the summer.
