RCAC announces new website and membership drive

The Rossland Council for Arts and Culture is excited to announce its new website.

The Rossland Council for Arts and Culture is excited to announce its brand new website and first-ever membership drive.

The organization is changing and inviting Rosslanders to play a huge part in their arts council.

Most people know the RCAC for some things but the breadth and width of its operations and art installations are often a big surprise.

From regular shows at the Miners’ Hall — including music, dances, comedy and theatre — to choosing and purchasing or leasing the many amazing sculptures around town. How about spearheading and managing the fundraising and beautiful renovation of the Miners’ Hall, in conjunction with the City of Rossland?

As organizers of art exhibitions and street art, did you know that the RCAC was behind the cool thoughts and poems appearing only in the rain on the sidewalks this summer? Strong support for local and emerging BC musicians and artists through the Joe Hill Coffee House series, children’s events and movies are just a few of the things the RCAC does. A

And the RCAC’s 2018 membership drive is launching immediately.

Register online now and you’ll be eligible for some very cool prizes, drawing on Dec. 20, just in time for Christmas. And speaking of Christmas, at just $10, what a great stocking-stuffer for friends and family. Your new or continuing membership goes a long way to helping the RCAC continue to bring the very best in mountain arts and culture to Rossland.

RCAC funding is based almost entirely on constantly applying for grants, with minor profits from events, memberships, donations and a small contribution from the City of Rossland. The volunteer board is always very busy and would like to offer big thanks to the RCAC’s volunteers over the years.

And a completely new volunteer program will also be announced in January — stay tuned.
