Penticton on tap for ‘Party funk” Orkestra

The Lemon Bucket Orkestra is bring their unique genre-blending music style to Penticton

Simply put, the Lemon Bucket Orkestra is: “A guerilla-punk-balkan-folk-brass band like no other and is billed as Toronto’s original “guerrilla-folk, party-funk massive.”

The group is bringing their groundbreaking, genre-bending music phenomenon to the Dream Café Nov.1 for one night only.

For the past eight years, the award-winning dozen have performed all over the world from New Zealand and Slovakia to Quebec City and beyond.

The genesis of the group can be traced back to the streets of Toronto where the original quartet of busking troubadours quickly amassed a battalion of like-minded musical souls and the full-blown dozen came together to form the Orkestra that now exists.

“Adventurously multicultural… amazing,” is how the Wall Street Journal described the group.

Described as equal parts exhilarating precision and reckless abandon, their live shows are a “truly immersive experience – ranging from the ecstatic to the cathartic.”

They will be in Penticton as part of their nine-date Western Canada tour before returning to Kingston, Ont., for a final performance.

People who have had an opportunity to see the band doing what they do best – “taking the audience on a joyful, impassioned ride through the Balkans and beyond” – are warning Penticton residents not to “miss your chance to see this dozen-strong juggernaut if you can.” To quote the Winnipeg Free Press, the experience will be: “Amazing, frenetic, gloriously anarchic and ultimately joyous.”

Tickets are $41 for premium seats and $31 in the wings and can be purchased at the Dream Café or online at https://thedreamcafe.ca/upcoming-penticton-entertainment/

Doors open at 6 p.m. and the show starts at 8 p.m.
