NANAIMO - Award-winning blues guitarist David Gogo has been nominated for three Maple Blues Awards but needs votes to win.

Nanaimo blues guitarist David Gogo has numerous awards under his belt.

He’s had five Juno Award nominations and has won a Western Canadian Music, a CBC Saturday Night Blues Award, and multiple Maple Blues Awards.

He been nominated again for three categories for the nineteenth annual Maple Blues Awards and needs people’s help to secure the win. Gogo was nominated for Entertainer of the Year, Electric Act of the Year and Guitar Player of the Year.

The winners will be determined by blues fans except for the instrumental categories, including guitar, which will be selected by a nominating panel.

People can vote for the entertainer and electric act categories and learn more about the voting process by going to www.mapleblues.ca. Only one vote is allowed per e-mail address. Voting is open until Dec. 4, 11:59 p.m.

The winners will be announced during the annual Maple Blues Award Gala in Toronto on Jan. 18.
