After being away for more than a decade, one of Canada’s most accomplished musicians is making her way back to Chilliwack: Juno Award winning Lynn Miles is visiting Bozzini’s Upstairs on Sunday, Feb. 4.
With a dozen albums under her belt, Miles has won multiple Canadian Folk Music awards and says she enjoys traversing the globe and “performeing music with unbridled feeling and vulnerability.”
Reaching deep into her emotional experiences, Miles creates music that “(puts) herself out there.” Her latest release, Downpour, the immensity of her experiences have truly elevated her songwriting to its richest level yet.
“There’s something to be said for experience,” says Miles. “For taking the time to grow into your own skin. All sturdy things need time to root firmly into the ground to find their strength.”
While Miles’ melodies float between traditional country and folk, her sound appeals to almost everyone.
“(She’s) a musician in the rarest sense of the word,” says Bozzini’s Emmanuel Asprakis. “(With) an unmistakable talent … than can only be unearthed (through) experience.”
Tickets for Lynn Miles at Bozzini’s Upstairs are $22.50, and can be reserved by calling (604) 792 – 0744. The show starts at 8:00 p.m., and the doors open at 6:00.
