Nanaimo based rock group, Doctors of Rock ‘n’ Roll, will cap off a triple header performance at Transfer Beach for LRCA’s Concerts in the Park.
The Doctors of Rock ‘n’ Roll will rock the Ladysmith Show & Shine on August 16. The next day they rush up to Smoke n Water restaurant in Parksville for a show on August 17. When they land at Transfer Beach, the Doctors of Rock ‘n’ Roll will be red hot, and ready to rock.
“Any time we can play three nights in a row it’s very exciting,” frontman Russ Der said. “We play a fair bit down in Ladysmith. It’s a great community. Every time we’ve played there the reception has been fantastic.”
This will be the band’s third showing at Concerts in the Park. They also played this year’s Ladysmith Days opener at Coronation Mall, and last year’s Ladysmith Days Ribfest.
Their music captures the sounds of rock n’ roll from the 50’s to present day. The Doctors of Rock ‘n’ Roll give music to soothe soul, and prioritize audience engagement. Band members don’t shy away from dressing the part, and often show up in themed costume. The show is suitable for all ages.
“We’re looking forward to seeing everybody out there having a good time. Hopefully we’ll get lots of people up dancing, and make some connections with people,” Der said. “That’s our whole thing, we just love to see people enjoying our music, and have a good time.”
