Groove, the upcoming spectacular dance show from Pantuso Dance School, will perform onstage at the Sid Williams Theatre May 5-7, and promises theatregoers an evening of dance entertainment that will dazzle and delight audiences of all ages.
Under the creative direction of Lindsay Sterk – an exceptional performer and artistic director/owner of the highly-acclaimed Valley dance academy – in tandem with his faculty, Groove will feature the entire student body and culminate a year of commitment to developing their dance and performance skills. Sterk and his team love working directly with their charges and the dance school is akin to having an extended family for all of them.
Family will no doubt be evident for audiences. They will be treated to an amazing array of dance genres including jazz and modern dance, ballet (traditional and contemporary), tap, hip hop and musical theatre including a special routine done by 38 dads.
And for Sterk as well, Groove will be a family affair as he is not only one of the dancing dads, but both his sons – Sam (10) and Timothy (seven) – and his wife Nicole Burgess are performing in the production.
“Groove offers audiences a fast-paced production celebrating a potpourri of dance genres that will showcase our students’ burgeoning talent,” said Sterk. “It’s a long show but with no down time between acts as performers move off and on the stage with a seamless flow of movement between dance numbers. The annual show is confirmation to all that the hard work needed to hone skills and reach goals has been worthwhile.”
The four-to-six-year-old classes have been divided into two shows, as younger students are not expected to participate in all four shows.
As a bonus, “Show A” will feature a faculty contemporary/aerial hoop fusion performance. “Show B” will feature Sterk’s incomparable tap dancing prowess in sync with the wonderful voice of his wife, a dynamic duo performance for sure.
