Fall Fair supper and dance approaching

The first performance in the Arts Council’s seventh season takes place on Oct. 13 at Lakes District Secondary School.

The first performance in the Arts Council’s seventh season takes place on Oct. 13 at 7:30 p.m. in the Multipurpose Room of Lakes District Secondary School.

Featured performers will be The Sojourners from Vancouver. The Sojourners are three talented soul and gospel singers, with a four-piece back-up band.

Their most recent album has been nominated for a Juno award, and they won the 2011 Western Canadian Music Award for Best Canadian Christian/Gospel Album. The Sojourners rocked the Salmon Arm Roots and Blues Festival, and they are going to rock the Lakes District.

On Oct. 20 the Kerplunks are coming to Burns Lake. These award winning childrens’ entertainers have recorded three albums and a DVD and have three Juno Award nominations to their credit.

The arts council is presenting them in Burns Lake on Oct. 20 at a special event matinée at the Beacon Theatre. Watch for more information coming soon.

On  Oct. 20, the Lakes District Fall Fair is hosting a Fall Supper with a family fun evening and dance. The festivities get under way starting at 6 p.m. at the Francois Lake Hall.

The menu includes a roast beef dinner with all the trimmings. There will be a cake walk and other kids’ games, and a family dance featuring ‘Special Delivery’ from Ft. St. James.
