There’s no reason to stay in Friday, even if it is Friday the 13th.
It’s not scaring those intrepid entrepreneurs at 13th Floor Entertainment, who are hosting a party at Vernon’s 2929 Nite Club featuring a special appearance by British DJ Deekline.
“This is his only Okanagan stop of his North American tour,” said 13th Floor’s Josh Brazier. “This is an amazing opportunity to see a world class DJ up close and personal. Deekline is an absolute legend in the scene and is sure to bring out the masses.”
Fresh from the Burning Man festival in Nevada, the London-based producer is one of the busiest artists on the scene and has been a bass music icon from the days of his platinum-selling U.K. garage anthem, I Don’t Smoke Da Reefer.
He recently released a new album, Bounce ‘n’ Shake, with studio partner-in-crime Ed Solo, and is a tour de force of booty bass, jungle, soul, breaks, dubstep, drumstep and drum ‘n’ bass.
Deekline splits his time between regular worldwide DJ tours, relentless production work and overseeing the six record labels he heads; all of which work tirelessly to propel street level artists into the forefront of the electronic music scene.
Deekline’s Hot Cakes’ parties (named after one of his record labels) have achieved the rare feat of blowing up clubs on both sides of the Atlantic, and he’s also known to put on a boat party or two on the river Thames.
Warming up the decks for Deekline will be Vernon’s H20 and Dee Bass.
Admission to the 19-plus show at 2929 Nite Club is free until 11 p.m. and $10 pre-sale/at the door after 11 p.m.
