After many years of music and many standout moments including opening for Canadian rock legends Burton Cummings and Paul Janz as well as sharing the stage with acclaimed singer/songwriter Stephen Fearing, Corey Primus returns to his “cold little northern town” roots to write and record a new CD, Something’s On Fire.
Born in Saskatchewan, now living in Vancouver, much of the fodder for Primus’ songs came from being raised in Prince George.
Something’s on Fire was realized in a house outside of PG, where family and crew gathered to record. The music and lyrics were written over a number of years, along with new songs inspired by Primus’ vision to share his music with inter-generational family members and engage them in the recording process.
Primus takes you on a melodic journey through loss (I’ll Be Fine), to hope and love (Love is Always, Misery). His songwriting is said to be innovative, contemporary and timeless.
Hear for yourself when Primus stops by Lorenzo’s Café in Ashton Creek, 901 Mabel Lake Rd., east of Enderby, to perform songs from his new album, Saturday, April 30.
Show starts at 8 p.m. Doors open at 6 p.m. Cover is $10. Call 250-838-6700 to reserve a seat.
