Nominations are now open for the Penticton and Wine Country Chamber of Commerce’s 2018 board of directors.
“This is a great opportunity for members to get directly involved in the direction of their Chamber,” said chamber president, Neil Wyper.
Made up of elected members, the board sets the chamber’s annual strategic plan, monitors its financial statements, sets policy and monitors the executive director’s effectiveness among other things.
Any chamber member can be nominated to serve on the volunteer board and, if elected, will serve a two-year term.
During that time they will be required to participate on at least one committee or task force per year, attend board meetings, represent the board at various chamber functions and perform other chamber-related duties.
Wyper encourages anyone interested in learning more about joining the board to review the director nomination package online.
The deadline for nominations is Feb. 16, with elections to take place at the chamber’s annual general meeting on March 8, at the Shatford Centre.
This year’s annual general meeting is taking on a new look and feel with Petcha Kutcha. Pecha Kutcha is a new format that keeps presentations concise and fast-paced, with a multiple-speaker format.
