The TransCanada Highway has re-opened after a fallen crane stopped traffic in both directions.
Two large cranes worked for several hours to free the boom of another crane as it teetered about 20 feet over the highway.
Traffic flow resumed at about 3:30.
The problems began at about 7:30 Tuesday morning, when a crane operated by Vancouver Pile and Dredge tipped during the morning rush hour.
No one was hurt in the accident.
Vancouver Pile and Dredge was performing pile driving services for the city's 156 Street underpass project when the accident occurred.
Ken Zondervan, Surrey's manager of transportation, said city crews, along with RCMP and WorksafeBC were all on scene investigating how the accident took place.
The 156 Street underpass project has been years in the planning, and is expected to be complete by next March.
