Going, going...gone; Seals' pitcher sold to Boston Red Sox
Lefty pitcher Isaac Hess will see if he can translate an 8-0 record in the Golden Baseball League to a spot with the Boston Red Sox.

He was the ace of the Victoria Seals pitching roster, perhaps the best baseball player of the team's inaugural season. And now he's gone.
Six games into the second half of the Golden Baseball League season the Boston Red Sox purchased the rights to left handed Seals pitcher Isaac Hess.
Hess will report to one of the Red Sox minor league affiliates.
Owner of a perfect 8-0 record, the best in the league, Hess earned decisions in all but three of his 11 starts, leading the league in several categories.
As of Thursday his eight wins and 65 strikeouts were still first and his 2.47 ERA second in the league.
It will take a few starts for Eduardo Baeza, the next closest Seals pitcher to pass Hess' league leading 69.1 innings pitched.
Last week it was fellow Victoria Seals hurler Austin Bibens-Dirkx whose contract was purchased by the Chicago Cubs.
Seals set run record over Capitals in opener
The Seals opened their four game home stand against the Edmonton Capitals with a 17-9 stunner on Christmas in July night at Royal Athletic Park, Thursday.
Sergio Pedroza had two home runs, Josh Arhart and Brett Flowers one each, as the Seals peppered the Capitals pitchers for 17 hits.
The series continues tonight and Saturday at 7:05 p.m., Sunday at 1:35 p.m.
