Conservatives pick candidate

Patrick Hunt is the Conservative candidate for Victoria in the next federal election.
Hunt won the nomination by beating out Camosun College board chairman Christopher Gillespie and writer Hugh Kruzel in a party vote Saturday.
Hunt's platform is based on creating jobs and wealth to increase a tax-base to pay for government programs.
He holds has a degree in economics and political science, spent eight years in the Navy and served as a Conservative MLA in Nova Scotia from 1978-81.
Christopher Causton and Denise Savoie have been nominated for the Liberals and NDP respectively.
No date for a federal election has been decided.
