Due to the heavy volume of food donations the final tally of the Great Canadian Food Fight wasn't released until Sunday

The city of Regina out did Victoria with 177 tonnes to 103 tonnes, all brought in between the Food Fight hours of 6 a.m. on Friday until 6 p.m. on Saturday night.

Brent Palmer, director of the Mustard Seed Food Bank completed the weighing at the Ogden Point Warehouse at Pier A on Sunday morning.

The Mustard Seed currently assists 7,200 people each month, 1,650 of which are children under the age of twelve.

It was the first time Victoria was challenged by the Regina & District Food Bank, who've competed against Winnipeg in two previous events.
