Grow-op busted on Quadra Street
Victoria police carried away 600 grams of dried marijuana from a home after a drug bust on Sept. 26.
Officers had been watching a house in the 3100 block of Quadra Street for a month. The marijuana had an estimated street value of $5,000.
Along with the pot, police found six rifles, two crossbows and several arrows and knives inside.
A 34-year-old man and a 31-year-old woman were arrested. They have been released from custody and are due in court Nov. 6.
Bar brawl ends with slashing
A fight that started inside a Victoria nightclub and moved to the streets left a man in hospital after having his face slashed with a broken bottle.
Approximately 10 people were involved in the bar fight at midnight Saturday.
A man smashed a beer bottle over a 20-year-old man’s head, then slashed his face with it outside Plan B nightclub on Broad Street. The victims injuries were “extensive,” said Victoria police spokesperson Sgt. Grant Hamilton.
Police arrested a 25-year-old man, who is due in court Nov. 6.
