Tree branch sparks fire

A falling tree branch sparked a house fire early Tuesday morning.
The branch hit the power line to a Wilson Street house in Vic West, and a fire started in the upper-level of the single-family home, said Victoria fire department Battalion Chief Bruce Rees.
Smoke and flames were showing from the roof when fire crews arrived after receiving a call around 3 a.m. They quickly doused the blaze.
The house sustained about $30,000 damage, but no one was hurt.
