A piece of Canadian aviation history will scream through the city's skies Monday.

Hawk One, a Korean War-era F-86 Sabre jet will fly over Victoria at 10 a.m. as part of a cross-country tour to mark 100 years of flight in Canada.

The jet is flown by Victoria resident and former Snowbirds pilot Dan Dempsey.

After the 15-minute fly past, the Sabre will be on the tarmac at Victoria International Airport for public viewing from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., before the jet wings its way to Nanaimo.
