A Victoria doctor will face a College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia review after admitting guilt of unprofessional conduct with a patient.
Dr. Daniel Archie Buie, 65, withdrew from his practice on Pandora Street in March 2007, after judging his conduct inappropriate.
A year previous, during various attendances at his medical office, Buie hugged a patient.
In 2007, he hugged and kissed the same patient during a different consultation. Buie also made comments to the patient that were deemed inappropriate and unprofessional.
Buie's practice has been suspended by the college and a report is currently underway.
"(The college) will review the report that comes out of his assessments and make a determination at that time," college spokesperson Susan Prins said in regard to the re-opening of Buie's practice.
Buie received his medical degree from the University of B.C. in 1969.
