Set to celebrate its 20th gathering of crafters, the Out of Hand Artisan Fair is returning to the Victoria Conference Centre.
Last year the fair attracted close to 12,000 attendees. Nearly 100 tables featured hand-made crafts, ceramics and pottery and other items.
The fair runs for three days (Nov. 20-23) and features a special Out of Hand afternoon tea menu presented by the Fairmont Empress.
Some of the fair highlights include contemporary furniture designed and crafted by B.C. woodworkers (presented in collaboration with Salt Spring Island Woodworks). Also there will be cooking demonstrations by the Island Chefs’ Collaborative, who will prepare locally grown, organic and seasonal food.
“When I saw the construction starting 21 years ago for the Victoria Conference Centre, I immediately ran out and booked the space,” said fair creator and organizaer Ramona Froehle-Schacht.
“People thought I was crazy. I had been doing a much smaller fair in the basement of the Empress. I needed the bigger space to show off the work of the artists. Many work all year to come to this market.”
Attendees will also be treated to a special Out of Hand afternoon tea menu presented by the Fairmont Empress.
Opening times for the fair are noon-9 p.m. on Nov. 20, 10 a.m.-9 p.m. Nov. 21, 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Nov. 22 and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Nov. 23.

The conference centre is at 720 Douglas St.
