Victoria Film Festival Free-B
The ninth Annual Free-B Film Festival put on by the Victoria Film Festival starts on Friday, Aug. 7 with the 3-D movie Journey to the Centre of the Earth.
Other movies featured throughout the summer include The Dark Crystal, American Graffiti and Nightmare Castle.
All shows start at 9 p.m. at the Cameron Bandshell in Beacon Hill Park, and free 3D glasses will be provided to the first 1,000 people who show up.
Movie Monday’s Love Story
Movie Monday at the Eric Martin Pavilion presents Chris & Don: A Love Story, on Monday, July 6 at 6:30 p.m.
The movie is a is the true-life story of the passionate three-decade relationship between British writer Christopher Isherwood and American portrait painter Don Bachardy, 30 years his junior.
The movie will be shown at the Eric Martin Pavilion Theatre, in the 1900 block of Fort Street. Admission is by donation. For more information go online to http://www.moviemonday.ca.
U.S. alt-country singer plays Hermann's
American alternative country singer Kelly Joe Phelps plays Hermann’s Jazz Club, 753 View St. on Sunday, July 5. Phelps has released multiple albums since 1994.
Doors open at 7 p.m. and the show starts at 8.
