Alexandria Players present Alexandria

Alexandria Players will stage three performances of a short play titled Hypatia of Alexandria: A Tragedy in Ten Scenes, Nov. 28 to 30.

The Barbara Julian-written script takes the shape of a classical tragedy, but with the added postmodern twist of a chorus of five modern commentators who watch and are pulled into the action. The play will be shown at the New Horizons Activity Centre, 380 Cook St. at 7:30 eaach night. For tickets or more information call 250-592-9340.

Friends of Music end season with a bang

Victoria’s Friends of Music Society wraps up its 2008 season with two shows in December. The first sees the Moodswing Orchestra perform It’s a Holly, Jolly Big Band Christmas Concert on Thursday, Dec. 4. Minds at Work: Rhythm and Blues to liven up your December! goes the following night.

The concerts take place at 7 p.m. at the Eric Martin Theatre, 2328 Trent St. For more information please call 250-592-5114.
