Lowry launches
Blood Orange poetry
Author Miles Lowry will be on hand to read from his work and launch his latest release, Blood Orange - The Paul Bowles Poems, in a gathering Nov. 28 at the Martin Batchelor Gallery, 712 Cormorant St. The event, 7 to 9 p.m., includes a special exhibition of painting, drawings and photographs from Blood Orange and related works.

Music corner launches concerts
Victoria Music Corner Ensemble kicks off its new season Nov. 29 with The Carnival of the Animals. The second concert celebrates Valentine’s Day on Feb. 14, with a special family-friendly adaptation of Mozart’s “The Magic Flute.” The concert venue is the Orange Hall, 1620 Fernwood Rd.
