Danish composer in Symphony spotlight

Victoria Symphony will be featuring the work of Danish composer Carl Nielsen in back-to-back concerts at the Royal Theatre.

Tania Miller will be at the podium for “Nielsen Symphony No. 4,” also known as “The Inextinguishable,” featuring cellist John Friesen. Also included in the performances are pieces from the opera Prince Igor and Sir Edward Elgar’s “Cello Concerto.”

The first show is a 2:30 p.m. matinee, Sunday, Dec. 7. The Monday night show (Dec. 8) starts at 8 p.m.
