Theatre Inconnu is going nuclear for its next production. The Fernwood-based theatre production company presents Copenhagen, written by Michael Frayn, who nabbed a Tony Award for his efforts. The play debuted in London, England in 1998 before moving in 2000 to Broadway, where it was staged more than 320 times.
The Theatre Inconnu adaptation, opening tonight (Oct. 15) and running through Nov. 1, stars Eric Holmgren, Richard Patterson, and Naomi Simpson.
The Clayton Jevne-directed play follows a meeting between leading world nuclear physicists Werner Heisenberg and Niels Bohr in 1941 in Copenhagen. Prior to the Third Reich’s domination of Europe, both had been part of an international team of scientists who collectively changed the world’s understanding of nuclear physics.
Tonight’s tickets are selling for half-price, while the Oct. 22 performance is pay-what-you-can. For more information or for tickets call 250-360-0234 or go online to http://www.theatreinconnu.com.
