Two worldly and unique South African musical groups are coming to the University of Victoria.
The legendary Ladysmith Black Mambazo (Oct. 15, 8 p.m. UVic Centre) and Soweto Gospel Choir (Nov. 2, 7:30) have each won multiple Grammy Awards over the past few years in the world music recording category. This fall the group is touring in support of their latest CD Ilembe: Honoring Shaka Zulu, a tribute to a man regarded as one of the greatest leaders in African history.
Tickets for both shows are available at UVic’s box office, or by phone at 250-721-8480.
Both shows take place at the Farquhar Auditorium on the University of Victoria campus.
