B.C. Hydro recently gave the Township of Esquimalt a chance to branch out, with the biggest re-greening grant the municipality has ever received.
More that $17,000 will go towards enhancing and restoring boulevards and parks by planting trees and shrubs throughout the municipality.
Low-growing species will be planted under power lines to minimize hazards.
B.C. Hydro launched the program in 2004 to reduce electrical hazards while enhancing urban forests.
