You've heard of the school-yard bully snatching lunch money from a unassuming students in the school yard.
But last Saturday the Fisherman's wharf Float Home Association did just the opposite.
They handed over $1,500 for the James Bay community school's snack program.
"We use the snack program for kids who don't bring a snack to school for whatever reason," said Janice Mathews, school principal.
"When they have that mid-morning break, it's important to have something to eat to keep them going until lunch."
The snack program offers nutritious snacks for students who haven't had breakfast, or didn't bring a snack to school.
They re-charge with apples, cheese sticks or granola bars.
"It's really hard when some kids have snacks and some kids don't," Mathews said.
"How grateful we are to those guys for doing this for us," she said.
Float home owners recently opened their homes for public tours and raised the cash Mathews homes will sustain the program through the year.
