Victoria's Jules Wilson will participate in his fourth triathlon this year, but it's about more than just physical strength and endurance.

Wilson entered his first Tri of Compassion in 2006, motivated by the story of a friend who had been sexually assaulted. He knew that support services are desperately needed for people affected by sexual assault.

Wilson said "one in three women will experience some form of sexual violence in their lifetime." His goal is to raise $2,500 to benefit the Women's Sexual Assault Centre in Victoria. That would bring his four-year total to $12,000.

Wilson will swim 500 metres, cycle 19 kilometers and run five kilometres for the Tri of Compassion at the Esquimalt recreation centre on Sunday.
