Two Victoria organizations were granted funding for programs that combat racism.

The Victoria Immigrant and Refugee Centre Society will receive $30,000 towards its Green is for Everyone project which aims to foster understanding about multiculturalism.

The Intercultural Association of Victoria will receive $28,250 toward its Safe Schools - Safe Harbour project to help children respond effectively to discrimination.

The grants were among 10 awarded by the provincial government's B.C. Anti-racism and Multiculturalism Program.
