Governor General recognizes military merit

Eight West Coast military men, including several Greater Victoria residents, have been awarded the Order of Military Merit from Gov. Gen. Michaëlle Jean.

Fifty-eight regular and reserve members of the Canadian Forces were honoured at a ceremony in Ottawa Thursday.

Members honoured include several from CFB Esquimalt: Chief Petty Officer Paul Massé; and Chief warrant officers Neil Townsend and Richard Rodrigue. Also honoured was Ted Ramsey of the 4th Canadian Ranger Patrol Group in Victoria and Paul Egli of the Joint Task Force Pacific.
