Every goaltender’s dream is a shutout and the way Brandon Gibb worked the net at Victoria Racquet Club on Halloween evening should have earned him one. But in the latter half of the game, with the Tammi Dimock Sooke Midget A boys taking a commanding lead, the puck rebounded off one of his own teammates to score Racquet Club’s only goal.
Gibb and the defence team really shone when they were down by two players and still held them off. Offensively, the Sooke boys were in top form as well. Sasha Perron got the first goal, assisted by Will Jacques, followed by two for Joel Zigay, one assisted by Gavin Kirk.
Sooke’s scorers kept it up through the rest of the game. Ryan Litoski scored two goals, assisted by Jordan Barber and Clay McClimon. Jordon Dueck, Bradon Senft and Zack Tucker also scored, and Perron got a second goal, with assists for Aaron Kasper, Litoski, Tucker, Barber and Jacques.
