Submitted photo Lois Pollard-Grant was crowned the 2008 International ministock champion September 27 at Western Speedway. She had led several races throughout the year and was in contention to win on many nights, but mechanical problems prevented her from a winning a feature race. She posted seven fast time awards, won a trophy dash and heat race as well as set a new track record in qualifying. Despite her mechanical problems, her consistent finishes allowed her to lead the point standings from the first race of the year. Her 12 race schedule saw her take races at both Western Speedway in Langford and Saratoga Speedway in Courtenay. Lois is pictured above with daughter Laura-Ashley and son Garret in victory square recieving trophies.
