Close to 40 people from all over Sooke put on their best costumes, wrote their skits and welcomed folks from the hallowed halls of history to the stage at Edward Milne Community School. In celebration of BC's 150 years and Sooke's part in it, the Sooke Region Museum and the Sooke Spirit of BC Committee organized a pageant, something they have done in the past but not recently.
Everyone from the mayor to the local plumber got into the act, portraying the known and not so known character who have fashioned Sooke into what it is today.
The show opened with members of the T'Sou-ke Nation welcoming people onto their traditional territory. The Pope made an appearance as did Brad and Angelina. It was a fun night, a good getaway from the more serious side of politics.
