Concert Season begins

The Sooke Philharmonic Orchestra has some grand concerts planned for the 2009/2010 concert season. Music aficionados can look forward to all of the great composers.

A Celebration of Young Artists with music by Dvorak, Saint-Saens and Sibelius in October; a Bach Christmas Oratorio on December 5 and 6; Mozart in Vienna in February; Masters of the Baroque in March; A Sonic Celebration in April at UVic; and Music for Midsummer in June as well as the very popular Philly Fling in July.

The 60-plus member, semi-professional orchestra was founded by Norman Nelson in 1997 and performed its first symphony concert on June 1998. Buy season’s tickets and enter a chance to win a whale watching trip.
