I would like to express my heartfelt thanks and appreciation for an incredible, humbling tribute my dear patients, friends and family paid to me last Sunday, June 28 at Fulford Hall.

The years have passed all too quickly and yet I am reminded, with every visit my patients make to my clinic, why I came and stayed on this wonderful island. This is a community of amazing people who care deeply for each other.

Thank-you for everything you have done, given, shared and taught me over the years. I am the one that owes you the tribute.

I would also especially like to thank:

• Sylvia Ommanney and Lynne Raymond for organizing this wonderful event. I know that this took many months of planning.

• Wally Stambuck — a great family friend since the Saskatoon days, and a very entertaining and humorous orator. Wally co-mc’ed with my extra-ordinary nephew Dean Donnelly. Dean’s creativity and incredibly hard work helped make this day very special.

• Allan Sherman for his many efforts towards producing such an amazing slideshow.

• Bob Primes (photographer extraordinaire) for capturing all the candid moments.

• Dennice Stambuck and Arthur Black for all their help.

• Rani Dankley, the Fulford Hall caretaker, for all of her extra work.

• All of the people who brought the delicious food.

• Donna Mort, who greeted people at the front of the hall.

• Last, but not least, Jean Southgate for always making me look so good!

DR. RON REZNICK,

Salt Spring
