Sacred Mountain Lavender hosts the 7th Annual Salt Spring Lavender Festival this Sunday, promising traditional festival treats and some new surprises.

Located at 401 Musgrave Road, the festival runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The entry fee of $3 for everyone over 12 gives entrants a chance to win one of the fabulous lavender raffle prizes.

“Once again there will be fantastic eats in the form of lavender flavoured baking, lavender lemonade and lavender gelato in three flavours, as well as coffee,” explains a press release on the event.

“We will also be serving lunches created for us by Janelle Langford of Sole to Soul Catering. Janelle will be giving cooking demonstrations at 11:45 a.m. and 2 p.m.”

A wonderful selection of vendors will be set up in the orchard, offering all kinds of tantalizing treats, including some from the Saturday market.

Shiatsu massage with Seamus Robertson and reflexology with Lynn will be available in the lavender field.

Jane Barter sets up in the upper field under the tree, giving intuitive and angel readings, while Joanne Stuart will do energy readings in the same area.

This year’s feature attraction is the Polynesian Dancers, who will perform on the lawn at 11:15 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.

“Try your hand at a little dancing yourself during the invitational dances.”

There will be face painting for children and a craft area for creating lavender wands, “you-pick” lavender, and demonstrations of propagation and distillation of lavender.

A prize draw is set for 5 p.m. with results published in the Driftwood.

“We look forward to seeing you all and invite you to enjoy the beauty, the taste and aroma of this wonderful and inspiring herb.”

Sacred Mountain Lavender is a boutique lavender farm that propagates, grows, harvests, processes, distills, packages and sells everything from the farm.

All lavender is organically grown and used to produce a wide range of spa and culinary products, including signature essential oils distilled from specially selected varieties.
