The top team in regular season play are now on the brink of elimination.

The Victoria Shamrocks have their backs against the wall when they host the Coquitlam Adanacs for game five, 7:45 p.m. at Bear Mountain, Wednesday night (Aug. 12).

When the Shamrocks clinched a first-round playoff series against the fourth place Adanacs, they did it with a deciding 22-10 victory over that very team.

Needless to say the tide has turned as Coquitlam returned to form on Monday night, winning game four of the Western Lacrosse League series 12-8 at the Coquitlam Sports Centre.

Curt Malawsky had three goals and two assists and is one of a number of veteran Adanacs who've upped their game for the playoffs. Coquitlam held Shamrocks' scoring stars Lewis Ratcliff and Rhys Duch to a combined total of two goals and one assist.

The Adanacs can clinch the best-of-seven series in Wednesday night's game five at Bear Mountain.
