Pacific Christian defend Bob Harrison Cup

Pacific Christian senior boys defended its Lower Island AA volleyball title, the Bob Harrison Cup, with a four set victory over the Parkland Panthers on Remembrance Day.

After dropping the first game 25-23, PCS came back to win the next three sets 25-22; 25-10; 25-15. Parkland had earlier beaten Lambrick Park 3-0 (25-13; 25-22; 25-11). PCS also beat Lambrick 3-0, (26-24; 26-24; 25-8).

The tournament is named in memory of Bob Harrison, former coach of the highly successful University of Victoria men's program as well as the national teams assistant coach.

PCS hosts Parkland and Lambrick Park for the Island Championships, Nov. 20-21.

PCS and Parkland also advance to the Judy Bourne Cup, which pits the top AA teams vs the top two AAA teams to determine the overall city champion.

PCS will play AAA No. 2 seed Reynolds, and Parkland will play Oak Bay, the Lower Island AAA champions.

Play gets underway at 6:15 at Oak Bay high school this Friday (Nov. 13).
