The Saanich Braves' schedule didn't do them any favours Saturday night as they played their third game in as many nights losing 5-2 to the Oceanside Generals in Parksville.

Coming off a two nights in a row battle with the Victoria Cougars, winning Thursday night in Esquimalt, then losing Friday night at home, the tank was near empty as they bussed up island Saturday afternoon.

Even the equipment manager was tired, bringing the home jerseys instead of the road jerseys. Fitting for Halloween, the Braves wore Oceanside's old road jerseys.

The Braves did get on the score board early as Brad Dick scored his team leading 12th goal at the the 1:58 mark. With the assist, Trevor Yee moved into third place in league scoring with six goals and 20 assists. Jake Nixon had the second helper.

Only 36 seconds later the Generals tied it up as Jason Wark took a pass from Robbie Antoine and fired it off the post and in behind Braves' rookie netminder Tanner McGaw.

The Generals went ahead for good with 6:24 remaining in the first period as Austin Moran sent Myles Fitzgerald in alone on a break away, and he made no mistake successfully deking out McGaw. Nolan Zarazun with the extra helper.

One minute and 35 seconds later the home team went up by two, but 6:53 into the second period the Braves narrowed the lead on the power play as Mark Stinson one timed a Trevor Crosby pass for his 5th goal of the season, third in his last three games.

With five minutes left in the middle 20, Wark scored his second goal of the game as he took a Robbie Antoine pass and beat McGaw 5-hole.

Oceanside added an insurance goal in the third period as Nolan Zarazun scored with 4:28 left in the game. Conner Morgan credited with the assist.

The Braves next game is at home Friday night against the Campbell River Storm, (5-11-1). Puck drops at 6:30 p.m. at George Pearkes Arena.
