Olympic flame gets rowed through Saanich
Aimee Hawker, left, is passed the Olympic flame from a member of the gold medal-winning men's eight rowing team at Elk Lake Friday afternoon. The flame was rowed halfway across the lake by the professional rowers, then handed off to a group of eight juniors. Following the torch relay that ended at the Victoria City Rowing Club, Minister of State for Sport Gary Lunn announced a $550,000 investment from the federal government to expand the rowing club.
