The civil trial looking into the police shooting death of a mentally ill man in July 2004 has been adjourned until at least next month.
The court, hearing the case brought forward by the family of Majencio Camaso, was last in session on Oct. 16, while the defence, representing the District of Saanich and B.C. Ambulance Service, was conducting cross-examination of their witnesses.
“(The trial) has been adjourned for an indefinite period of time, hopefully a short period,” said defence lawyer Michael Hargreaves. “We hope to resume sometime in November, but council is still discussing the scheduling.”
